March 13 - Bob and Ted's Excellent Broadway Adventure

Spent the week-end of March lst in Gainesville, FL and had a wonderful time at grandson Lincoln Weaver's school play! He's in the 5th grade at Jordan Glen School and the play was amazing..or should I say EXCELLENT! The oldest kids were in the 8th grade and these terrific kids sang and danced through several Broadway plays including Rent, Cats, Annie, Sound of Music, Annie Get Your Gun, Grease, Hairspray and Oliver. TRAVEL TIP: We stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown Gainesville on this visit -- our first stay at this lovely hotel. I signed up for their Honors Club AFTER I'd made the reservation. If I had signed up BEFORE making the reservation I would have saved $23.00/night. So always sign up for a hotel's priority program BEFORE you book your reservation. The hotel was wonderful...rooms were clean, modern, bedding was comfy and the breakfast (hot and cold) was delicious. The pool was a tiny lap pool but it was too chilly to use the pool anyway. We laughed at the sign (which I'm sure they had to post by law). Our Lincoln played Benny the landlord in Rent...he's in the black trenchcoat and did a wonderful job. And Lincoln also was one of the orphans in Annie. You broke a leg, Lincoln and congratulations to all of the talented kids at Jordan Glen!
