Our Next Cruise - 12/8/12

Just made reservations for our next trip...a cruise on Holland America's Eurodam to the eastern Caribbean on 12/8/12.  Called our friend Esley Malone at Vacations to Go and he took care of it.
If you're considering a cruise, check out their prices and call Esley 800-338-4962 ext. 7524!

We'll be cruising to Grand Turk, San Juan and St. Thomas..all places we've visited...but we haven't been on Holland America for several years so we're anxious to "try" the ship.  And we're looking forward to one of the smaller ships compared to Norwegian's Epic and Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas....both are gigantic.

This trip should also help us both get our "rears in gear" for the Christmas season -- we'll have to finish our shopping a little earlier, get our gifts wrapped and our houses decorated before we leave.

Halloween on Oasis of the Seas - 10/11

This is a great time to talk about our cruise last October on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas.  Mary K and I were on this mammoth ship over Halloween last year and the crew members truly believe in decorating!

First of all, we were a little leery about a ship this huge -- we like smaller ships -- but we found a great deal at Vacations to Go (www.vacationstogo.com) and called our guy, Esley Malone who can be counted on to give great service.  The ship is gigantic and intimidating.....

Oasis of the Seas dwarfing another cruise ship

Our balcony cabin...they're not that much more on some cruises and well worth it!
but it has so many venues to enjoy:

The Boardwalk

Central Park

A view during the day

...and at night

Aqua Theater

Ice Rink

Wave Rider

Adults Covered Pool

Kiddie Pool

Climbing Wall

The Zip Line

We also enjoyed the show, Hair Spray in the huge theater....

And we learned to make a hamburger cupcake at the cupcake shop (extra charge but worth it).....

We were kept busy every minute of that cruise!

Mary K and I were lucky to be up late on October 30th having a nightcap and a snack and couldn't believe the commotion....the crew was decorating an entire deck for Halloween festivities the next day.  Fellow cruisers later told us they book this cruise every year just to experience Halloween again aboard this particular ship.  We were able to take lots of pictures during the decorating and before the crowds of people arrived the next day.

On Halloween night, many of the cabin doors were decorated...this signalled the children onboard they could expect a treat at that particular cabin.

There was a gigantic Halloween party...most of the guests "in the know" brought lavish costumes onboard for the costume contest....

And...the winners!

The food on this cruise was wonderful and, yes, we had lobster night...

The drinks were plentiful.....

And, oh yes, we actually went to Mexico....

All in all, the main reason we went on this trip was to experience the ship and that we did!
